Tom Sloan is a Photographer and film maker based in UK.

I am a UK-based photographer and filmmaker working across fashion, advertising, documentary and portraiture, and I am represented worldwide by Lalaland Artists.

My work is rooted in youth culture and the energy that surrounds it — capturing the joy of life, friendship, shared experience and the connections between people. Much of my documentary practice focuses on photographing young people within their own groups and environments, observing moments as they naturally unfold.

Commercially, this translates into a balance between documenting and directing: looking to preserve the honesty of a moment while elevating it visually to meet the needs of a brief. Whether working across stills or motion, I bring a documentary sensibility to my approach.

I work closely with my subjects to create space for their personalities to come through. For me, authenticity is everything — the people always make the picture.
